Three Unique Qualities of an Outstanding Leader

A leader is a person who influences a group of people towards the achievement of a goal. There are leaders with different leadership styles, but there are certain unique qualities that differentiate a good leader from others.

What then are these unique qualities that make a leader more outstanding from the others? Is it as a result of his attitude? His personality?  The respect and fear that emanate from his presence? No need to ponder more on this because we have been able to come up with three unique qualities that distinguishes a good leader from others. Here they are in no particular order.

They listen carefully to those they lead

Outstanding leaders know the importance of listening to those whom they lead; it makes the employees feel that they are appreciated and their opinion respected at any time. Outstanding leaders give their undivided attention to those they listen to. Listening to others is not passively waiting for what others have to say. On the contrary, listening to others actively opens up channels for communicating more effectively and thoughtfully. Therefore, outstanding leaders take full advantage of this opportunity to make a positive impact in those they lead.

 

Outstanding leaders understand that listening means much more than just hearing. When people talk and are listened to, they are more likely to open up and become more trusting because they feel valued and important. And trust is the glue that holds every business and its employees together-leading to their success. This is why outstanding leaders listen carefully and attentively.

 

They Inspire

Outstanding leaders help others become more conscious of their talents and interests. Leaders that operate at a high level keep themselves and everyone on the team focused on the goal. They are action-oriented. Ideas and dialogue turn quickly into action that is captured quickly and enacted upon.
