With a mission to help reduce unemployment in the country, The Young Business Leaders of Nigeria gave out free HP Laptop to eighteen budding entrepreneurs during the 6 weeks residential entrepreneurship program in Lagos.

The Founder, YBLN, Temitayo Etomi who made the announcement during her welcoming address at the program, said that the free laptop is part of the program’s surprise package and urged participants to be focused and value the knowledge to be gained from facilitators.

She enjoined participants to be hard working and network among themselves in building contacts which she noted is key to any entrepreneur. She challenged participants to make good use of their skills, time and knowledge gained for their betterment.

Participants however expressed their gratitude at the gesture and commended YBLN for its drive in helping to tackle the issue of unemployment in the country. One of the participants from Bayelsa state, Amadi Peter who is into catfish farming said, “I am overwhelmed and was not expecting this, the laptop came at a time when I am in need of it. I also want to thank YBLN for giving me such an opportunity to be part of the program and hope to the win the seed fund to be given at the end of the program.”

Another participant from Edo state, Federick Blessing who is into waste recycling said she was amazed with the reception by the YBLN team, “I won’t lie to you, I was not expecting something as big as this. And I really must thank YBLN for giving me such an opportunity to be a part of the program and intend using the knowledge acquired to expand my business and also to fulfil their demands of employing a minimum of five persons before December 2016.”

A Participant from Kebbi state, Abdulazeez Aminat also thanked YBLN for giving her such a rare opportunity.  She said, “It feels so great that there is an organisation who believes in the northern youths and is striving so hard to end poverty and unemployment in the region. Therefore, I intend maximising this opportunity to send a message across to other youths in my state.”
